Stated first edition. Oversize book bound in 3/4 maroon cloth and grey paper over boards. 177 numbered pages + 4 pages which contain an additional photograph and a Catalogue of Photographs. Book is tight and clean, interior pages unmarked; top and bottom edges of grey portion of boards are darkened, and front free endpaper has a gift inscription: "From Marian, 1988." Dust jacket is fine. There is a $50.00 price sticker covering the original DJ price, but this seems to be underneath the lamination of the jacket and thus may have been done by the publisher. ~~ Award-winning poet-author Dickey shares the wonder of life in the southern mountains through the poignant voice of an old mountain man who encounters a traveler. Stunning full-color, many full-page, photographs by Bake, one of the South's premier landscape photographers, and representing all the major ranges of the Appalachians, accompany the narrative. Dickey re-creates the haunting voice of his own people, and Bake supplies the backdrop. A gorgeous book. In clear archival cover. This large, heavy book may require additional postage.

New York St. Martin's Press 1983 0312351933 / 9780312351939 First Edition Hard Cover Fine Fine 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall

Dust jacket is also fine, crisp. ~~ 'Grunch' stands for 'Gross Universal Cash Heist.' In this sequel to 'Critical Path,' Fuller traces the evolution of multinational corporations from the post-World War II military-industrial complex to the current world economic crisis. He claims that as these economic giants grow beyond the control of the national political units, they threaten bankruptcy of the U.S. and the collapse of the world economic system, "perhaps signaling the emergence of a new form of political and economic organization for the beleaguered inhabitants of Spaceship Earth." Written 25 years ago, just before his death, Fuller's chilling prophesy seems to be coming true. ~~ In clear archival cover. A perfect first edition copy.

From the dust jacket: "Most people think they can read another person's facial expressions--but that's only a tiny portion of the whole story . . . Face reading, on the other hand, considers everything on the face--from the shape of the eyebrow . . . to the angle of the mouth. None of these traits is temporary." She argues against ethnic and racial stereotypes, and instead instructs that there is a lot to be learned about each unique individual.
