Foreward by Paul Gallico. Red cloth boards with bold black lettering and silver epee illustration on front cover and spine. Attractive rough-cut pages and top of text block still retains publisher's original blue topstain. 300 pages.~~ This is a fine first edition copy of this classic treatise by one of the greatest fencers of all time. Book has little to no edge wear, just very light rubbing to corners, spine lightly wrinkled at head and heel, no fading, very square and tight. Outside edges of page block are mildly age-darkened; front and rear free endpapers have a rectangular yellowed area were there had been a piece of paper stored in the book. Owner's name and address neatly written on FEP, and on the free endpaper is written what is apparently the location and date the book was purchased and its price. This volume has been well-cared for.
